Counts of data characteristics and eQTL results for each of MKs and platelets separately and in comparison with one another. All eQTLs/eGenes from eigenMT analysis with q-values < 0.05 were considered as candidates for overlap from 1 tissue to the other. Note that because eigenMT selects the top eQTL per gene, there is a 1:1 correspondence between eQTLs and eGenes here. However, because of differences in expression patterns and sample composition, some eQTLs/eGenes were not able to be compared. For window-based results, any significant eQTL/eGene in the second tissue within a window of ± the width value is accepted as an overlap eQTL/eGene

*

For cross-tissue comparison, only a subset of the eQTLs/eGenes can be tested for overlap because certain genes may only cross the expression threshold in one tissue, or certain SNPs may not be present in both data sets, and therefore may not be eligible for testing.
