Values for the Ct for each real-time PCR for each receptor were used to calculate the fold-change of the cDNA for the target gene compared with that of γ-actin by the formula 2−ΔΔCt, where ΔΔCt − (CtTarget − CtActin) Time X − (CtTarget − CtActin) Time 0 (see “Materials and methods”).29 Final values in the table are expressed as the ratio of the fold-change in the target gene in the knockout mouse over the fold-change in the target gene of the control mouse.
