Primary leukemia cells freshly isolated from 6 patients with CLL were each treated with various concentrations of 2-ME and ATO alone or in combination for 72 hours. The drug effect on cell viability was determined by MTT assay. CI values were calculated by median effect analysis using the computer software of Chou and Hayball.51 The data of 6 separate experiments with different CLL patient samples are shown as mean ± SD.
