Values are the mean ± SD. Limits used for protein S deficiency subtype classification in this case were a total protein S antigen level ≤218 nmol/L (below the reference range) for type I and ≥219 nmol/L (within the reference range) for type III. All were carriers of the Gly295Val mutation. The P value was calculated using Student's t test and is a comparison of the 2 groups for that variable.
