CD4 cell counts were obtained from patients' physician records and FYN specific kinase activity was determined as described in Materials and Methods.

Does the patient have full blown AIDS? Y = yes, N = no, asymptomatic HIV infection only; followed from 1 $\frac{1}{2}$ years to 10 years since seroconversion.

Relative FYN-specific kinase activity is expressed relative to uninfected control subjects analyzed on the same autoradiographic blot.
