The cutoff for copy number loss was defined by more than 10% (more than mean ± 2 SD) of the respective probes according to the hybridization results of PBMCs from 10 healthy subjects. Hybridization efficiency of all probes was more than 90% in all samples analyzed. A loss of probe signal was scored only if the reference probe (CEP10) signals were observed. No statistically significant differences between MGUS and MM regarding incidences of copy number changes and percentages of clonal PCs were observed.
