Mice (n = 4-6 per arm) were injected with either phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), 80 U/kg thrombin or 40 mg/kg LPS. Compared are results of PBS solute only (200 μL/mouse) 10 minutes after thrombin (80 U/kg in 200 μL IV) and 2 hours after LPS (40 mg/kg in 200 μL IP). The means (± 1 SD) are shown. Statistical analysis between groups was performed using the Student t test (A-C). Note: Platelets release PF4 in vivo after either thrombin or LPS injection into mice.
