PEG = polyethylene glycol; RBCs = red blood cells; Neg = negative (no macroscopic agglutination). RBCs expressing the M blood group antigen were derivatized with 0 to 25 mg/mL of either 3.35 kd or 18.5 kd dichlorotriazine-activated PEG. This was followed by agglutination studies using murine monoclonal antibody 6A7 (anti-M). Agglutination reactions were scored according to the method of Marsh.22
