Complete blood counts were obtained daily until the ANC was ≥ 5000/μL and platelets (unsupported) were ≥ 20 000/μL. They were obtained 3 times per week thereafter until the platelet count was ≥ 50 000/μL on 2 determinations, separated by a minimum of 48 hours.
