Polymorphonuclear cells (PMNs) from the same donor as in Figure 4were incubated in complete medium (unstimulated) or in complete medium containing NIH44.1 F(ab)2 0.25 μg/mL, hyaluronic acid (HA) 100 μg/mL, and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) 12.5 μg/mL and were harvested at the indicated times. The assessment of apoptosis in PMNs was obtained by propidium iodide staining of permeabilized cells by flow cytometry. The percentages of apoptotic PMNs with subdiploid DNA are indicated.
