At every time point one transplanted mouse was killed, and CFSE⁺ cells were isolated from murine bone marrow cells by flow cytometric cell sorting. Human cells homing to the spleen were not analyzed.

Data presented were collected from 4 separate experiments. All measurements were performed in 3 experiments, and in one only S/G2 + M cells were assessed both in vitro and in vivo. Postsort analysis of sorted G₀/G₁ and S/G₂ + M cells with propidium iodide indicated that 87.8%, 93.0%, and 99.3% of sorted cells were in G₀/G₁, and 25.2%, 6.0%, 10.8%, and 5.7% of sorted cells were in G₀/G₁, respectively.
