Purified adult bone marrow CD34+ cells were cultured at 1 × 105/mL in QBSF-60 (Quality Biological, Gaithersburg, MD) serum-free medium containing a cocktail of cytokines including rhIL-3 (10 ng/mL), rhSCF (50 ng/mL), TPO (20 ng/mL), and 100 ng/mL of rhHAPO (the rhHAPO was not added in the control). Data are pooled from 3 separate experiments and expressed as mean ± SD.
