Lineage-depleted cord cells were transduced with MIG or Notch4-IC (n = 4). After transduction cells were injected into the veins of sublethally irradiated β2-microglobulin NOD/SCID mice. After 9 and 12 weeks, marrow aspirations were performed and cells were stained with GFP, CD45 and CD34, glycophorin A, CD33, CD41a, CD11b, CD20, or CD3. The average percentage (± SD) of cell surface marker on CD45+ cells of the 4 experiments at week 9 and week 12 was calculated. After the animals were killed, the spleens were removed, and the spleen cells were stained with GFP, CD45 and CD33, CD20, or CD3.
