Lethally irradiated (1100 cGy) B6 (ly5.1) and (1300 cGy) (B6×C3H)F1 or CBA/J recipients received transplants of B6 or B10.BR TCD-BM (5 × 106), respectively. Mice received 2.5 μg/day IL-15 or PBS (control) by intraperitoneal injection at varying intervals after BMT. All recipients were 8 to 10 weeks of age, except the second group in Experiment 3, which consisted of 10-month-old recipients. BMT recipients were killed at different days after BMT and thymi were removed, processed, and counted. Numbers in the control and IL-15 columns represent median of the cell counts, and each group contains 4 to 6 mice.
