Outcomes in the model vary according to the simulated patient’s characteristics, namely age, sex, smoking status, and mean organ doses. Age and sex influence the incidence and case fatality rates of late effects as well as patient utility each cycle. Smoking status influences incidence rates. Mean organ doses, through dose-response equations, also influence the incidence rates of late effects.
