The expression of Tfr2 protein in the liver of hbd and wild-type mice. (A) The hepatic expression of Tfr2 protein in wild-type and hbd mice on the control diet was determined by Western blotting. Actin was used as a loading control. (B) Protein extracted from the liver of 10-week-old C57BL/6J mice and hfe knockout (hfe KO) mice was used to demonstrate the increase in Tfr2 protein expression that occurs when the serum transferrin saturation is high. (C) Band intensities for each gene were measured by densitometry and normalized to actin expression before being graphed as a percentage of controls.
