Stressed apoptotic 12B1-D1 cells up-regulate the expression of MHC class II and costimulatory molecules on DCs.

Bone marrow–derived DCs were cocultured with heat-stressed or nonstressed apoptotic 12B1-D1 cells at a 1:1 ratio for 24 hours. DCs were then harvested and analyzed by flow cytometry for expression of the cell surface markers indicated. The CD11c⁺ gated population was analyzed for expression of CD40, CD80, CD86, and MHC class II. (A) Overlay histograms and (B) fold increase in MFI.
