A second, identical gradient was performed, and the percentage of total SSRBCs in each of the 5 density fractions was determined in buffer A for the following conditions: (1) immediately after the primary density gradient (n = 4); (2) after 90 minutes of 37°C oxy incubation (n = 42); and (3) after oxy/deoxy cycling (n = 42).
