Influence of treatment of T_reg-cell frequency. Different approaches affecting T_reg-cell frequencies and function have been proposed in recent years and tested either in murine models or first clinical trials. Targeting of T_reg cells in human tumors, however, does not always result in reduced T_reg-cell numbers but may also, under given circumstances, be linked to the induction of autoimmunity or the expansion or development of T_reg cells.
