Hepcidin is regulated by erythropoietic activity, not anemia. Prior to phlebotomy (Phleb) mice were pretreated with NS (Phleb Alone), carboplatin (Cp + Phleb), doxorubicin (Dox + Phleb), or anti-EPO.
