Binding of 3D7-parasitized erythrocytes was included as a negative control. Data represents average ± standard deviation (n = 3). Numbers are expressed as the percentage of CS2 parental binding (bound erythrocyte/mm2). The mean number of bound infected erythrocytes per squared millimeter for CS2 parental binding was 1240 above bovine serum albumin control.
