Effect of TSP-1 blockade on PTH-induced hypercalcemia in vivo. CD1 female mice were infused with human (1-34)PTH at 15 pmoles/hr for 5 days via Alzett minipump implanted subcutaneously in the interscapular region. Animals were injected intraperitoneally with 0.3 mg of anti–TSP-1 antibody or isotype control at the time of minipump implantation and 2.5 days later. On day 5 after infusion, the levels of serum calcium were measured. Shaded area represents the normal range for serum calcium in CD1 mice. Data represent mean ± SEM of 6 animals per group. *P < .05.
