Inhibition of PKB induces homing of human hematopoietic progenitors in β2-microglobulin−/− NOD/SCID mice. CD34+ cells, cultured in the presence of SCF and FLT-3L, were transduced with empty vector alone or myrPKB. Three days after transduction, cells were injected into β2-microglobulin−/− NOD/SCID mice. Four, 22, and 44 hours after injection, mice were killed, and the percentages of eGFP+ cells migrated to the (A) bone marrow and (C) spleen were determined by flow cytometric analysis and flow count beads (n = 3).
