Stx1B and Stx2B induce secretion of VWF strings from cultured HUVECs. human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were perfused in a parallel plate flow chamber at a shear stress of 2.5 dyn/cm2 for 10 minutes with fluorescent anti–von Willebrand Factor (anti-VWF) antibody and the indicated agonist (200 ng/mL). VWF strings were counted in 10 fields and values shown as mean ± SE. Scale bars are 10 μm. Experiments were conducted at least 3 times with similar results.
