Dexamethasone (Dex) does not rescue the detrimental effect of rapamycin in a murine sepsis model. (A) Male C57BL/6 mice (n = 8/group) were injected with 1.5 mg/kg per day rapamycin (Rap; intraperitoneally; on 2 consecutive days), 300 μg/kg Dex (subcutaneously), or vehicle as described in “LPS shock model.” Then mice were challenged with 20 mg/kg LPS (intraperitoneally), and survival was monitored for 156 hours.
