CD16 expression on Vδ2^neg γδ T cells endow them with the capacity to bind IgG-opsonized HCMV. CD16^pos (A) and CD16^neg (B) Vδ2^neg γδ T-cell lines were incubated with HCMV alone, anti-HCMV specific IgGs alone, or IgG-opsonized HCMV. Blocking anti-CD16 (clone 3G8) or control mAbs were used in certain conditions. The binding of IgG-opsonized HCMV on Vδ2^neg γδ T cells was detected by flow cytometry using a fluorescent goat anti–human mAb. The experiment was performed in duplicate (mean ± SD) and is representative of 5 different experiments.
