Diminished circulating levels of proinflammatory cytokines for Fibγ^Δ5 mice following intravenous S. aureus infection. Circulating levels of IFNγ (A), IL-6 (B), IL-12p70 (C), IL-17A(D), TNFα, (E), and MCP-1 (F) were measured in plasma using a Luminex bead multiplex assay. Cohorts of wild-type and Fibγ^Δ5 mice were either unchallenged (N = 4 per genotype) or administered an intravenous infection of ∼2.5 × 10⁸ CFUs of S. aureus for 24 hours (N = 8 per genotype). The data are represented as the mean ± standard error of the mean and analyzed using the Student t test.
