Defensin stimulates the binding of Lp(a) to vascular endothelial cells. HUVECs were incubated with 0 to 40 nmol/L ¹²⁵I-Lp(a) alone or in the presence of 3 μmol/L defensin for 4 hours at 4°C and the specific binding was determined.
