Photomicrographs of blood from Tg58 × Tg98 mice. (A) Freshly drawn blood was transferred directly into 2.5% glutaraldehyde in 0.1 mol/L cacodylate buffer. In the peripheral blood, many RBCs (25% to 35%) were misshapen but very few had the classical looking shape of sickle cells.
