PAI-1 antigen levels at the peak of hyperbilirubinemia after BMT (n = 31). At the time when bilirubin levels reached a maximum, PAI-1 antigen (mean ± SD) was found to be significantly elevated in patients with VOD (426.1 ± 230.0 ng/mL) as compared with patients with GVHD (41.0 ± 20.6 ng/mL; P < .001) or with other liver damage (44.6 ± 32.9 ng/mL; P = .0001).
