Shown are the metaphyses prior to initiation of nightly subcutaneous deferoxamine (Fig 7A); 3 years after initiation of deferoxamine therapy (Fig 7B); and 6 years after initiation of deferoxamine therapy (Fig 7C). Radiographs show evidence of progressive widening and irregularity of the unossified metaphyseal matrix, which has irregular sclerotic margins.
