Capsaicin induces ⁴⁵Ca uptake in BMCMCs but not in PMCs. Cells were challenged with different concentrations of capsaicin (C) for 30 minutes to induce ⁴⁵Ca uptake. The vanilloid specificity of the capsaicin-induced response was determined by using 10 μmol/L capsazepine (CPZ) or with 5 μmol/L ruthenium red (RR) as vanilloid antagonists.
