PB have fine reticular chromatin, scant cytoplasm (less than half the area of the nucleus), little or no hof, and either a large nucleus (>10 μm), or a large nucleolus (>2 μm). IMM plasma cells have the same nuclear features, but more abundant cytoplasm and usually a more prominent hof region.
