VAG539 treatment induces antigen-specific unresponsiveness. VAG539- or saline-treated Balb/c mice (n = 3) were immunized with OVA in CFA. (A) Draining lymph node cells were analyzed 7 days after immunization for expression of CD80 and CD86 by CD11c⁺ DCs (2-tailed t test: *P < .05). (B) Seven days after immunization, draining lymph node cells were stimulated with irradiated C57Bl/6 CD90⁻ antigen-presenting cells (1:1 ratio; proliferation of stimulator cells alone was < 200 cpm), with Con A (1.25 μg/mL) or with OVA at the indicated concentrations.
