CD56+ cells from human peripheral blood harbor CD14+ cells, which resemble intermediate-sized lymphocytes. CD56+ cells were isolated from PBMCs using CD56 microbeads and magnetic-activated cell sorting technology. Purified CD56+ cells were stained for CD56 or CD14 and analyzed with a flow cytometer. (A-B) Step-wise arbitrary gating of subsets with increasing FSC identified a CD14+ cell population with scatter properties characteristic of intermediate-sized lymphocytes.
