Mice infected with B burgdorferi are hypoferremic. (A) Homogenates of livers and spleens from uninfected and infected C3H mice with B burgdorferi were analyzed using rabbit antiferroportin antibody and mouse antitubulin antibody followed by a peroxidase-conjugated goat anti–rabbit antibody or goat anti–mouse antibody. (B) Serum was isolated from infected and uninfected C3H mice 4 weeks after injection with B burgdorferi.
