Figure 5. Soluble CD14 induces survival of CLL cells in vitro. Unsorted CLL cells (2 × 105) were cultured in 0.5 mL of complete medium per well in 24-well plates. Recombinant human CD14 at 10 μg/mL (n = 13) or SDF1α at 1 μg/mL (n = 9) were added to the cultures and survival of CLL cells was analyzed after 2 days by flow cytometry after annexin V–PE/7-AAD staining. Relative survival rates (values of medium control cultures were set as 1) are shown, and calculated P values are indicated.
