A recurrent profile of acquired chromosomal abnormalities in BM samples of FA patients. Samples are grouped by BM stages (normal, aplasia, MDS, and AML). The 1q+ and 3q+ lesions are specific from FA compared with MDS/AML of non-FA patients. Other abnormalities, including 7q− and RUNX1 mutations, can be found in non-FA patients. 1q+ is found at all stages of the BM progression, whereas most other lesions are found at the most advanced MDS/AML stages.
