Growth-inhibitory effects of Bcl10 overexpression in WEHI-231 cells. WEHI-231 cells overexpressing Bcl10 rapidly lost representation in infected cultures consisting of infectants and noninfectants. Cells were infected with retroviruses coexpressing Bcl10 or its N-terminal CARD (Bcl10-CARD) and GFP via a bicistronic mRNA containing an IRES, under the transcriptional control of the CMV enhancer. The fraction of GFP+ cells in each culture was determined in triplicate by flow cytometry over a period of 10 days. For comparison purposes, the GFP+ fractions were all normalized to the fraction on day 5, when the fraction of GFP+ cells was maximal or near-maximal in each culture. Actual percentage of GFP+ cells at day 5 varied among different cultures from 3% to 25% as a result of nonidentical virus titers during infection.
