Number of free and phagocytosed PMNs in the liver at 3 and 6 hours after treatment with LPS, LPS anti–P-selectin Ab, LPS LMW heparin, and GdCl3 LPS. The number of free and phagocytosed PMNs was reduced at 3 hours, and significant reduction was observed 6 hours after combined treatment with anti–P-selectin Ab or LMW heparin or GdCl3, compared with LPS treatment alone. The number of phagocytosed PMNs was near to 0 level 3 or 6 hours after combined treatment with GdCl3. The number of cells is expressed per mm2 of semithin section (0.2 μm).
