Effect of azide on the activation of the LTR by neutrophils and either PMA or opsonized zymosan. The reaction mixture contained 2 × 10⁶ Jurkat LTR_luc, either 100 ng/mL PMA (A) or 1 mg/mL opsonized zymosan (OZ) (B), azide at the concentrations indicated and, where indicated, 10⁶ normal or CGD neutrophils/mL in RPMI at a final volume of 2.0 mL. The results are the mean ± SEM of three to six experiments, with the asterisk indicating a significant difference from the absence of azide (P < .05).
