Localization of the amino acid substitutions of the weak D types. A predicted topology of the RhD protein with respect to the plane of the red blood cells’ membrane is presented. Amino acid substitutions are shown for single events (black circles) and multiple events (gray circles). The amino acid substitutions of all weak D types were located in intracellular and transmembraneous protein segments.
