Iron loading in Hx −/− tissues. Liver (A,B), spleen (C,D) and kidney (E,F) sections from Hx −/− (A,C,E) and wild-type (B,D,F) mice stained with Prussian blue for detection of ferric iron. Liver and spleen show iron deposits in Kupffer cells and macrophages, respectively, without differences between knockouts and controls.
