In whole blood, LXA4 analogs modulate surface expression of L-selectin and CD11/CD18 on resting leukocytes. Blood aliquots were incubated with LXA4 analogs for 30 minutes at 37°C. Adhesion molecule expression is presented as the percentage of control (unchallenged cells). Control mean fluorescence intensity for L-selectin: PMNL, 108 ± 7; monocytes, 30 ± 2; lymphocytes, 55 ± 3; for CD18: PMNL, 52 ± 4; monocytes, 113 ± 11; lymphocytes, 20 ± 1; n = 8.
