Whole blood (20%) in RPMI 1640, isolated PBMC (5 × 105/mL) with or without isolated neutrophils (106/mL), or elutriation-purified monocytes (105/mL) were stimulated with 10 μg/mL LPS ± 100 ng/mL G-CSF. White bars indicate the absence of G-CSF; black bars, its presence. After 24 hours of incubation at 37°C, released cytokines were measured in the cell-free supernatants by ELISA.
