Leukotriene biosynthesis in normal and CML CD16⁺ neutrophils after stimulation with ionophore A23187 or a combination of fMLP and arachidonic acid.

CD16⁺ neutrophils (15 × 10⁶ cells/mL) from CML patients and healthy controls were incubated with 1 μmol/L of either A23187 or fMLP at 37°C for 5 minutes. The latter compound was combined with 8 μmol/L arachidonic acid. Levels of LTC₄ and LTB₄ were determined by HPLC. Each value represents the mean obtained from duplicate experiments with cells from 4 CML patients and 4 healthy controls. Error bars indicate SEM.
