Changes in LIP level and IRP1 activity in LY cells after treatment with DFO. LY cells were exposed to 500μM DFO for 20 hours. Cells were analyzed in parallel for LIP content and IRE binding by IRP1 as described in “Materials and methods.” The upper panel shows LIP levels; the lower panel, IRE binding activity of IRP1.
