Northern blot analysis of gene expression in untreated and IL-6–treated M1 and M1E2F-1 cell lines.

Cells were collected at the indicated times and total RNA was extracted as described in “Materials and methods.” The RNA (10 μg per lane) was resolved on a 1% agarose gel and transferred to a nylon membrane. The RNA blot was then hybridized to the appropriate³²P-labeled probe, washed, and subjected to autoradiography for 24 to 48 hours at −80°C. After stripping, the Northern blot was reprobed.
