Functional maturation accompanies CD8 induction on migratory LC.
Mice were immunized intradermally with ovalbumin and then painted with FITC. Twenty-four hours later FITC+CD8+CD11c+ and FITC+CD8−CD11c+ cells in the draining LN were isolated and tested for their ability to stimulate 2 × 105 allogeneic T cells (A) and to process and present antigen to 5 × 104 class I MHC-restricted, ovalbumin-specific T hybridoma cells.
