CD8⁺ LC secrete higher levels of IL-12 and IFN-γ than CD8⁻ DC.

Sorted populations of 1 × 10⁵FITC⁺CD8⁺CD11c⁺, FITC⁺CD8⁻CD11c⁺, and FITC⁻CD8⁻CD11c⁺ DC were cultured in the presence of IL-12 to induce IFN-γ secretion or in the presence of lipopolysaccharide to induce IL-12 secretion. Forty-eight hours later, the cytokine profile of each population was determined by ELISA. Results of 1 of 3 representative experiments are shown.
